The Trento-based Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) is a center of excellence in applied semiconductor research, focusing on advanced devices such as integrated sensors, MEMS and quantum technologies. Its Sensors & Devices center operates in state-of-the-art clean room environments, where devices are developed for applications ranging from high-energy physics to biomedical technologies.<\/p>\n
To make these devices, FBK employs PVD techniques, which are critical for creating high-precision thin layers on substrates intended for microchips and sensors. These processes require highly customized facilities capable of ensuring uniformity, cleanliness and strict thermal control.<\/p>\n
