THE ANGELANTONI GROUP

Founded in 1932, the Angelantoni Industrie Group includes 4 production/logistics units in Italy and 4 subsidiaries for the sale and servicing of ACS products in France, Germany, India and China. It operates in the fields of simulated environmental test chambers with Angelantoni Test Technologies (ACS), biomedical equipment with Angelantoni Life Science (ALS), and thin film deposition systems with Kenosistec.

It all started with the Great Depression of 1929 when Giuseppe Angelantoni, born in 1904 in the small town of Massa Martana, lost his job as a refrigerator factory worker in Milan.

Having no lack of initiative and insight, in 1932 he decided to set up on his own, starting a small repair company for what were the first cold appliances.

HEREDITY

“Rather than a real company, the ‘plant,’ if we really want to call it that, consisted of his motorcycle and the tools he always carried with him.”

Gianluigi Angelantoni, 74, one of the sons of the founder of the technological empire with branches in France, Germany, India and China, thus remembers his father.

Almost 90 years later, the enterprise continues to be projected towards the future. It ranges – as can be truly emphasized – from vacuum simulation machines to healthcare; from precision mechanics to the automotive industry; from industrial applications of particle physics, to improvements for everyday utensils. “Let’s say we are always looking for new ideas,” continues Angelantoni, “our watchword is innovation.”

ENVIRONMENT

“Respect for the environment is testified by a prominent sign at the entrance to the Cimacolle plant with words that, translated into English, read: ‘Low CO2 impact plant: with a 370 kilowatt photovoltaic system and a 2 megawatt biomass plant, thus avoiding the releasing of 319 thousand kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere.’” (Ed. Note: Both of these contribute to the heating and cooling of the buildings).

ASTRONAUTS

“ESA astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti and Roberto Vittori paid a visit to the factory some time ago, given its “space” inclinations. Later, Roberto Battiston, president of the ASI, experienced firsthand the excellence of the Group’s productions. Nobel Prize winner Carlo Rubbia also had the opportunity to interact with the Group. Until 1988, the technological excellence of Angelantoni “topped out” at an altitude of 10,000 meters. Since that time, the company has grown and has aimed higher and higher.”

ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Sustainability is an integral part of the culture of all the Angelantoni Group companies, both in terms of internal organization and in the designing of products that reduce their environmental impact.

INNOVATION

At the heart of the Group’s business, the push toward innovation has made it possible to expand the range of products and ideas, diversifying in various areas over time.

COMMUNITY AND CONTINUITY

After almost 45 years in Milan, founder Giuseppe Angelantoni moved his business to Massa Martana, thus offering job opportunities to his fellow townspeople, stemming, and even reversing, the flow of emigration to the north.
